How to Make Your RV into Your Home on Wheels
When you first begin traveling in your RV, the interior may seem a bit sterile and impersonal. You need to transform your RV into your comfort zone, a place you can retreat to when you need a calm place to find some peace. These are a few of the ways I have customized my RV to become my home on wheels.
One of my top must-have items is Rock-n-Roll Putty. This is an indispensable tool if you like to arrange small souvenirs and breakable items to commemorate your travels. Rock-n-Roll Putty is awesome stuff, and it keeps your things from rolling around and breaking while you're on the move. My handcrafted Mexican tiles in the photo above are attached to the wall with Rock-n-Roll Putty, so you can see how powerful this putty is. Whether it’s a small vase or a delicate figurine, this putty ensures they stay in place no matter how bumpy the road gets.
Another great addition has been acrylic frames. I mount these on the walls of my RV using Rock-n-Roll Putty to keep them securely in place. The frames are magnetized, so they hold my favorite photos between the panes of acrylic. It’s a simple yet effective way to bring a personal touch to the RV and create a visual reminder of special moments while on the road.
A fireplace lamp has been a game-changer for the ambiance. This little purchase has really made my RV feel like a cozy home. It doesn’t actually produce heat, but the soft, flickering light of a flame creates a peaceful, inviting atmosphere that’s perfect for winding down after a long day of travel or doing a bit of writing.
Lastly, the storage ottoman has been indispensable. Not only does it function as a step-up to the bed for my sweet doggie, but it also serves as a spacious storage container that blends seamlessly into the design of my RV. It’s both practical and aesthetically pleasing, which is exactly what you need when living on the road.
